RDA Chairman Spoke over RDA Action on Illegal Constructions – While addressing the RDA’s 44th governing body meeting, chairman RDA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza spoke in favor of RDA management and said that RDA is a legal Entity and always works for the development in a right way.
He said the RDA had approved the terms of reference (TORs) for revising the master plan of Rawalpindi, and had invited an expression of interest from reputed consultancy firms.
he told that the boom in illegal construction happened in 2013 and RDA was authorized to approve the societies. From 2013 to 2019, twenty-five schemes emerged and out of these six were approved. The RDA took legal action against the rest of them under the provisions of Punjab Private Housing and Land Sub division Rules 2010.
During this time period, about 292 legal notices and 78 challans were issued by RDA. RDA registered 99 FIRs, sealed 106 offices and dismantled gates and advertisement boards of illegal societies.
He said the RDA had requested PEMRA to direct the private TV channels not to air advertisements of illegal societies.
